If you want to move beyond the postcard image to something more fresh and interpretive, join Brenda on this week of photography with the purpose of developing a deeper, more expressive vision of the world around you. This workshop aims to help you push past the obvious and to see more deeply, developing your personal point of view, while also helping you master any techniques needed to express what you feel about what you see. While we will visit iconic locations on the island, you will be encouraged to also look beyond those images to find personal interpretations that express the essence of place, and your subject(s).
Learn to work with the light you have, incorporate visual depth and design in your images, and above all how to be more in touch with the essence of your subject or a place.
The week blends insights into how to translate what you feel about what you see into the finished image, individual assignments and wanderings, group field trips, a one-on-one with Brenda, night sky photo sessions, and a special sunset cruise through the Apostle Islands to Devil’s Island to photograph fantastic sea caves of sculpted rock.
This class is best suited for Intermediate to Advanced photographers - please have a good working knowledge of your camera and the basics of photography
