Join Heidi Parkes for a unique five-day ONLINE workshop in which students will explore storytelling! Learn about several of Heidi's diaristic quilts that tell her stories of travel, time in quarantine, and love for winter. This workshop features instruction on visible hand piecing, hand applique, hand embroidery, and hand quilting. Students will learn to sew with a thick, visible pearl cotton thread for their handwork to be easily seen in the quilt and have a few optional opportunities to use their home sewing machines. As a virtual workshop, care will be taken for students to rest their eyes and practice hand yoga. Heidi will provide instruction with an additional camera over her hands, through video, powerpoints and printable instruction booklets.
A special gift box will be included with the purchase of this workshop! Hand selected items from Heidi herself and Madeline Island School of the Arts will be sent to students' doorstep a week before the start of the workshop!
