Derive inspiration from the colorful culture of Santa Fe with textile designer, Tara Faughnan. Endless color explorations will take place as students create visually complex quilts from the repetition of a simple block. Learn the importance of value in creating movement and how the use of shape can tell a story.
Spend the afternoon drawing inspiration from the rare collection of folk art at the Museum of International Folk Art where rich textiles abound. Throughout the week students will create several small design studies with the option of working these designs into a full size quilt.
