We will research the leaves, trunk, berries/nuts as well as the animals and insects that inhabit the type of tree your choose.

This workshop is presented as a creative design class, allowing each participant’s piece to be unique. Instruction begins with layering techniques, using simple stitches and fabrics for creating a textured background. Next, create your own unique tree, as I guide you through the design process, drawing inspiration from our research and creative inspiration.

Last, but not least... Embellish your piece layering with hand dyed wool, silk velvet, silk, linen and cotton fabrics. Challenge yourself by experimenting with a variety of speciality threads, exploring stitches and stitch combinations that add incredible depth and texture to your work.
