In this 4-day workshop with the 5th day for self-exploration students will be a combination of two of Carol's most popular workshops: Geologic Abstract and Paper Landscape.
You will learn a simple technique Carol uses to create a design for a geo abstract: sidewalk cracks! All you need to do is look down. Carol photographs interesting crack formations wherever she is for inspiration. She will show you how to turn photos of ordinary cracks into beautifully textured, geologic abstract compositions. Please bring your printed photos to class - Carol will also have photos for you to look at.
The second part will be devoted to the Paper Landscape. That's a fancy name for a landscape collage made from papers created by you, the artist. You will learn to make a variety of papers to use in you landscape, including Tyvek, marbled paper, squeegee paper, multi layer monoprints, textured paper, embossed foils, and more. Let Carol show you how her "sandwich technique" makes composition easy.
