Led by nationally acclaimed photographer Jeff Berkes, these carefully selected workshop dates will include moon phases, meteor showers and the Aurora Borealis. The Island has many excellent and very unique locations for capturing imagery of these night sky phenomena.
Mid-week, MISA's 80 passenger cruise ship with indoor and outdoor seating will take you among the islands to Devils Island– the northernmost of the 22 Apostle Islands. Devils is famously known for its cavernous red stone sea caves. During the sunset there will be abundant photo opportunities– including on the ship inside the lichen covered caves.
Later, the ship will motor to Michigan Island and its two lighthouses for a once-in-a-lifetime, all-night photo shoot of the Milky Way, star-trails, time-lapse videos and meteor showers– in the darkest part of the Great Lake. Dinner, snacks and refreshments will be provided throughout the evening.
Back on Madeline Island in MISA's fully equipped photography studio, there will be plenty of time for daily critiques and post-processing workflow techniques to finalize student’s images.
This workshop has produced many amazing photo opportunities; you simply do not want to miss out!
