Many artists feel that their work is all over the map, they are pulled in too many different directions, and that their creative output lacks a cohesive voice. And yet when they try to stick to a consistent style, they quickly get bored and want to try something new. Does this sound familiar? How do you go deeper into an exploration without simply repeating yourself and getting stale?
Jane's new ONLINE workshop will explore ways of working in series as a process, going deeper into each idea, really playing with it and having fun with its possibilities. You will look at ways to define starting points, establish parameters, and discover infinite variation within given boundaries. And then you can shed those boundaries once the process takes over.
In this ONLINE workshop you will begin with several small series, using primarily acrylic paint and collage. Then you will work from your own paintings as starting points. Most importantly you will learn the practice of working in series as a way to keep your creativity alive and thriving!
This is an intermediate and advanced level class. Please come with ideas of what you would like to explore (previous paintings, series in process, or just an inspiration), and feel free to e-mail Jane with questions in advance.
