Elizabeth A. Busch has a BFA in Painting and Art Education from the Rhode Island School of Design. Her Art Quilts have won many awards, including the President’s Award, Quilt Visions 2006; Excellence in Surface Design, Quilts=Art=Quilts, 2005; Quilts Japan Award, Quilt National 2003; Best in Show, Quilt National 1989.
Elizabeth was a juror for Quilt National 93, Breaking New Ground, and The Art Quilt: Celebrating Women’s Visions and Energies. Her work has been published in numerous books and magazines, among them Quilts Japan, Nouvel Objet, 88 Leaders in the Quilt World Today, The Art Quilt, Quilts A Living Tradition, Surface Design, Textilforum(German), Textile Fibre Forum(Australian), Quilter’s Newsletter, American Craft, American Quilter, Threads.
She has taught workshops in New Zealand, Australia, the Netherlands, Canada, and in the USA at Haystack, Arrowmont, Penland, Quilt Surface Design Symposium, and Visions: Quilt San Deigo to name a few.
Her Art Quilts are in public and private collections throughout the USA, Europe, Australia, Canada and Japan. Elizabeth’s Kinetic Sculpture Commissions are permanently installed in Maine, Massachusetts, Florida, Oregon and Alaska.
