Try to select fabrics for your appliqué project that are tone on tone for best effect such as batiks and blender fabrics. When choosing your fabrics, think in terms of a box of crayons. You want to have lots of options to color with and for fussy cutting. You do not need an arm load. Just a subtle value variation for your chosen shades.
Background fabric: 15” wide x 11” high
If you like to fussy cut, bring a variety of light medium and dark tonal fabric (batiks work best)
(cottons such as Aurifil 50 wt., mettler 60 wt. and DMC 50 wt.)

4-5 inch embroidery hoop if you wish to do some embroidery during the workshop. I prefer the Morgan
No-Slip hoop (5”)
Small 3.5”-4” sharp embroidery scissors (no children’s please) yes this matters!
Small scissors for cutting paper templates
(I will have “My Favorite Appliqué Needles” available for purchase)
